The Petaluma River stays in place
The streets of Petaluma that front the river remained mostly dry on Sunday, 1/8/2017. Despite quite a drenching, the Petaluma river didn’t overflow into streets like C and H that dead end at the river.

C St and 1st St: the high water level reached around noon.
If you are walking on the dock, unless you are 10 feet tall, your head is normally several feet below the railroad tracks. To see people walking on the dock while sitting in the Apple Box is very unusual!
The photos above were taken at C and 1st Streets at 7:30, 9:30 and 10:10 Sunday morning.
F and 1st St Sunday morning and again Monday morning after the storm.
The water level at the D St bridge was down several feet by Monday morning.
The ramp down to the dock is usually at a 25-30 degree angle. Sunday morning at 9:30 it was almost level.
